It seems like where ever I go, I need a creative outlet. When traveling, it's photography.
To share the works that have inspired mankind for thousands of years, we search for unique ways to make the beauty of the 3D world come alive in 2D space.
When we can, we arrive at a destination in the afternoon to be there to capture the red and orange effects of the setting sun, and watch as the sky goes from blue, to indigo, to black, until the spot lights come on and turn the subject on fire in the night. Then, we rise early to capture the morning light as it baths the subject in golden streams under a soft blue sky.
Today, we have a library of more than 10,000 images covering the greatest sights of man and nature. Most were taken with a classic, manual, Canon F1 that tells its tale of hard trekking from the Himalayas to rain forests with dents, scratches, and a case so worn the underlying brass gleams through the black. Most of these images need to be digitized, except The Islands, which was taken on a digital camera, as my old friend F1 decided its time was past, and retired.
